Due to the large variety of objects and difficulty in developing robotic arms capable of grasping them all, comprehensive solutions for the Pick & Pack task are non-existent. We are introducing an intelligent robotic system that combines 4 key parts:
Our vision system allows us to get information about the object and its location on the surface by processing the point cloud. Following the gathered information, we can observe and decide how to preform the Pick & Pack task.
Based on the information gathered with our vision capabilities and integrated with data from the logistic warehouse’s database, a decision is made for the best packing technique, meaning which gripper to choose and how the arm should execute the picking task.
We don’t believe in a “one perfect gripper”, so instead we created a solution that incorporates all the strengths of the different gripping solutions
Our robotic arm is coupled with a kit of different grippers attached to a tool changer- a mechanism enabling the arm to change between grippers. We are working with a vacuum gripper, parallel gripper, and other unique grippers that will be introduced in the future.
Novel packing optimization algorithm allows for best use of package volume with reduced packing time, all while considering different limitations such as product fragility. All our gripping options are able to perform even in small crowded containers.
